My very first demonstration

We live close to Denmark’s main camp housing asylum seekers. A number of years ago a large protest march in favour of refused asylum seekers was arranged.
The participants ranged from groups of well meaning grandparents to anarchists, known to use violence on such occasions. It was sad and shocking to see parents taking their babies and young children right up to the front of the demonstration.
They returned complaining when the police were eventually forced to use tear gas, an event that they must have anticipated as a possibility.

Poles apart

It was early this year on a cool spring morning, that I came across these two sitting on a wall close to the old stock exchange in Copenhagen.
I realise, that there is only one pole in the picture, but I still felt like playing on words.
