On the beach

The island of Bornholm is situated in the cold southern Baltic. In spite of that Figs and Mulberries thrive there. It is a wonderful place with endless white beaches, shear rocky cliffs, forests and green fields. We try to spend time there when possible. On his day we walked down to one of the beaches. As often happens the sea was glinting and the cloud formations were very dramatic.

The Snake

Last week we met with my son and Daugther in law at Fisketorvet “The Fishmarket for cake and coffee. Fisketorvet is a large shopping centre surrounded by modern office buildings. Through it all runs “The Snake” a specially build cycle path. Always very photogenic.

Disembarking

Yesterday I went to Copenhagen. I usually leave the car at home and use public transport. The Metro is very fast and efficient and a great place to photograph. The light is good and there is always things happening. I enjoyed playing with my new Nikon D750 with the 50mm 1.4 mounted on it. A great combination

Brick Lane

After many times in London we eventually made it to Brick Lane. You need to know its history to really appreciate it. So many people have passed through. It is now mainly dominated by asiatics. Jewish silk weavers once made their living here, but it is said to be moving upmarket and sought after by Yuppies.

Probably the best beer in the world

Beer was brewed here "Probably the best beer in the world" The coppers are long gone. The mighty old grain silo converted into luxury apartments. Raging fires no longer roar in the boilers. Where beer was once brewed "probably the best beer in the world" High rise developments and shopping malls now stands. A piece of history has been torn out of Copenhagen. Only a a restaurant a couple of bars and curio shop remains. But in the old stables the mighty dray horses still stand placidly waiting to pull old brewer carts filled with laughing tourists. The old Carlsberg brewery has gone forever and will never come back.
